ArcvonCV is free to use, and your career information is yours. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we need it, how it is protected, and how you can see, correct or delete it.
1. Who we are
ArcvonCV (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides the ArcvonCV website and applications: a free CV and resume builder with AI writing tools, document utilities, a community job board, a Social Media Manager, and an optional paid bookstore.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use ArcvonCV, why we collect it, how it is stored, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everyone who visits the site, creates an account, or buys a book from us.
To complete before publishing: the full legal name of the business that operates ArcvonCV, together with its registered or business address. Add both details here before publishing.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address and password. Authentication is handled by our platform’s account system, so we never store your password in readable form. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- CV and career content — everything you enter into a CV: your name, contact details, photo, professional summary, work history, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages, achievements and endorsements, plus any optional personal details you choose to add such as nationality, date of birth, marital status or visa status.
- Files you upload — profile photos and images you attach to a CV or to a social media draft.
- Other content you create — cover letters, social media drafts, community job posts, comments, reviews and job applications you send through Community Jobs.
- Order information — if you buy a book, your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, so we can fulfil and deliver the order.
- Support messages — anything you send us, including messages to the in-app Help Assistant.
- Technical and usage data — device type, browser, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you view, and the actions you take in the app.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide and operate the service, including creating and storing your CVs and letting you export and share them;
- generate content you ask for with AI features;
- send you service emails such as account verification, password resets, job alerts you asked for, and order updates;
- process, fulfil and deliver book orders, and handle cancellations, refunds and delivery issues;
- keep the service safe — detecting spam, abuse, fraud and security threats, and enforcing our Terms of Service;
- understand how the service is used so we can fix problems and improve features;
- comply with our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI features
When you use an AI feature — for example generating a CV summary, improving work experience bullet points, scanning a CV for ATS readiness, writing a cover letter, preparing for an interview, or matching you to jobs — the text you submit is sent to our AI provider so that it can generate the result for you.
- We do not use your CV content to train public AI models.
- AI features have a daily usage limit so the service stays available to everyone.
- AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. It is a drafting aid, not advice — always review anything an AI feature produces before you send it to an employer.
5. Files you upload
Files you upload — such as a profile photo or an image attached to a social media draft — are stored in private storage, not on a public web address. They are shown back to you through short-lived signed links, and they are not indexed by search engines.
If you use one of our document utilities (for example converting a document, splitting or merging a PDF, compressing a file, or extracting text), the file you select is sent to our document processing provider to perform that conversion, and the result is returned to you. Do not use these tools on documents you are not willing to send to a third-party processing service.
8. Analytics
We record product usage events — for example that a cover letter was generated or that a CV was emailed — so we can understand which features are actually used and improve them. These events record that an action happened; they do not contain the content of your CV, your cover letter or your messages.
10. Your public and shared content
Most of what you create in ArcvonCV is private to your account. The following parts are visible to others, and you should treat them as public:
- CV share links — if you create a share link for a CV, anyone who has that link can view it. We record when a shared CV is viewed or downloaded so that you can see its activity in your dashboard.
- Community Jobs — job posts, comments and your display name are visible to other members and to visitors to the site.
- Reviews — a review you submit may be displayed publicly on the site alongside your display name.
Please do not include information in public content that you are not happy for anyone to see.
11. Book shop, payments and delivery
Book orders are paid through our payment gateway, Razorpay. Your card and payment details are entered on the payment provider’s own secure page — ArcvonCV does not receive or store them.
We keep your name, email address, phone number and delivery address so we can confirm, pack, ship and deliver your order, and so we can handle a cancellation, a refund or a delivery problem if one arises. We also keep a record of the order for accounting and tax purposes.
12. Storage, security and international transfers
We take the following measures to protect your information:
- per-account access rules, so your CVs, drafts and posts are readable only by the account that created them;
- encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our service;
- access to personal data restricted to what is needed to operate and support the service.
No online service can be perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password and never share it with anyone.
Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than the one you live in. Where that happens, we rely on our providers’ safeguards for the transfer of personal data.
13. How long we keep your data
- Account, CV and draft data — for as long as your account is open, and until you ask us to delete it.
- Order records — for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and dispute handling.
- Community posts and reviews — these form part of public threads, so they may remain after an account is deleted unless you ask us to remove them.
- Technical and security logs — for a limited period, so we can investigate abuse and keep the service secure.
14. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
You can exercise most of these directly in the app:
- edit or delete a CV at any time from your dashboard;
- update your name and account details in Account settings;
- delete your account from Account settings;
- control whether you receive job alerts and Community Jobs notifications from Account settings.
For anything else, email us and we will action your request once we have verified that the request is genuinely yours.
15. Deleting your account or your data
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile and ends your access to the service.
To have the content you created removed as well — your CVs, cover letters, drafts, community posts, comments and reviews — send us a deletion request from the email address on your account and we will remove it for you.
We may keep certain records after a deletion where we are required to by law (for example order and tax records), or where they are needed to resolve a dispute or prevent abuse.
16. Children
ArcvonCV is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ArcvonCV evolves. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will also notify you in the app or by email.
18. Contact us
For any privacy question, or to make a request about your personal information, contact us at:
arcvoncv.team@gmail.comYou can also reach us through the Contact page, or use the in-app Help Assistant while signed in.
To complete before publishing: the full legal name of the business that operates ArcvonCV and its registered or business address, so people know who they are writing to. Add these before publishing.
6. Social Media Manager and account connections
The Social Media Manager lets you draft, schedule and publish posts to LinkedIn and Instagram, and keep those drafts in a content calendar. It is entirely optional: you can write, edit, schedule and store drafts without connecting any social network.
Nothing is shared with a social network until you complete that network’s own authorization screen, which lists exactly what access you are granting. If you choose to connect an account:
Account connection for LinkedIn and Instagram is being enabled progressively. Where a network is not yet available to connect, no connection is created, no token is issued, and no data is sent to that network.
